Wall-mounted split

Best for: Bedrooms, living rooms and home offices

One indoor unit high on the wall, linked by pipework to an outdoor unit. The compressor is outside, so it is quiet in the room. The most popular and best-value option for homes.

From £1,595

Multi-split

Best for: Homes cooling two to five rooms

Several indoor units, each with its own control, running from a single outdoor unit. Keeps the outside of the house tidy and usually costs less than separate systems.

From £2,995 for two rooms

Ducted

Best for: Renovations, new builds and larger homes

The indoor unit is hidden in the ceiling void or loft, with ducts feeding small grilles in each room. Almost invisible, but best planned during building work.

Ceiling cassette

Best for: Offices, shops and restaurants

Set into a suspended ceiling, blowing air in four directions for even cooling across larger open spaces.

Floor-standing

Best for: Conservatories, lofts and rooms with low walls

A slim console unit near the floor, ideal where there is no high wall space, such as under a sloping ceiling or in a glazed room.

Questions about system types

Can’t see your question? Call, WhatsApp or email us and we’ll reply within 1 hour.

What type of air conditioning is best for a house?

For most houses, wall-mounted split systems: one per room, or a multi-split system serving several rooms from one outdoor unit. Ducted systems suit major renovations.

What is the difference between split and multi-split?

A split system has one indoor unit and one outdoor unit. A multi-split has several indoor units sharing one outdoor unit, each controlled separately.

Do all these systems heat as well as cool?

Yes. All of the systems we fit are heat pumps that can heat as well as cool.

What about portable air conditioners?

We do not supply portable units. They are noisy, less effective and need a hose out of a window. A fixed system is quieter and cheaper to run.
